Washington Employers Changes Name to Archbright

Eliminates Confusion & Launches New Services

SEATTLE--()--Washington Employers, a 78 year-old organization founded in 1936, and now the region’s largest HR and employment law resource, has changed its name to Archbright. Along with the new name, Archbright is also adding payroll services and retirement planning to its core HR consulting, employment/labor law counsel, employee training, and worker’s compensation services for its more than 1,000 employer-members.

The name change from Washington Employers to Archbright (http://www.archbright.com/) facilitates expansion to other Northwest states and eliminates confusion that the organization is a government agency.

“Employers are increasingly in need of experienced employee relations consultants, trainers, employment/labor attorneys, and workers compensation experts,” said Craig Nelson, Archbright’s president. “With the addition of payroll services and retirement planning we now offer a full spectrum of employer-employee relations services and programs.”

“Cross generational workplace development needs coupled with increasing federal, state and local employment laws, regulations and mandates has made it more challenging and complicated for companies to achieve their desired business outcomes while mitigating risk,” Nelson added. “Archbright’s workplace professionals help employers traverse regulatory issues, and work with employer-members directly to create a desirable workplace.”

Archbright employment and labor attorney Kellis Borek agrees. “With the enactment of dozens of new federal, state and local employment laws, small businesses are overwhelmed! Ignorance of a law is not a defense. For example, wage and hour lawsuits in federal court are up 300% since 2001 and this trend is not slowing down; unpaid overtime, failure to pay for off the clock work, misclassifying employees as exempt or independent contractors represent the majority of claims. A small business needs immediate access to accurate information to avoid lawsuits or agency audits. That’s what Archbright’s lawyers and HR professionals provide to its members.”
