MINNEAPOLIS--()--Okabena Company, one of the nation’s most respected wealth management companies for families and nonprofits, announced today that Christine Galloway, president and CEO of Okabena Company, will retire effective the end of this year. James Field, former president and CEO of The Northern Trust Company’s Minneapolis office, has been named president, Okabena Company.

Upon Galloway’s retirement, the company will have two leaders: Field, in the role of president, Okabena Company, and Douglas Neimann, current president and chief investment officer of Okabena Investment Services, Inc. Neimann manages the comprehensive investment program for taxable and tax-exempt clients, while Field will oversee office financial services.

For more than 47 years, Okabena has provided a suite of wealth management solutions to grow and preserve the financial legacies of its clients, including families, community foundations, professional associations and endowed institutions.

“I am very excited for our next chapter and working with Jim as we continue serving our clients with the best strategic counsel among our integrated financial services,” said Neimann. “We thank Chris for her steadfast leadership that has made Okabena a preeminent family office. Jim is a welcome addition and is well-respected in the Twin Cities for his broad experience in the finance and investment fields.”

Field earned his Master of Science in accounting from DePaul University and holds both a CPA and a CFA designation. His undergraduate degree is from Williams College. Born in Minnesota and a Twin Cities resident, his career path has included jobs with Deloitte and Touche, the Portfolio Management Group and Alternative Investments at American Express, and The Northern Trust Company.

Galloway’s last day with Okabena will be Dec. 31, 2014. “It will be difficult to leave Okabena after 21 very rewarding years, but I’m excited for my future as well as the company’s. It will be in great hands with Jim and Doug at the helm,” said Galloway. “I’m confident in their abilities to continue to advance the strategic vision of all of Okabena.”

“The company and all of its clients have benefited tremendously from Christine’s leadership during her time with Okabena, and we are sad to see her retire,” said Tobin Dayton, chairman of Okabena. “Chris has positioned the company for continued success as Okabena enters its next phase of growth. We are grateful for the energy and passion she has brought to her work at Okabena over these many years, and wish her well as she begins this exciting time of life.”
