Salas O’Brien Merges with Texas-Based Kalmans Marshall Engineering

Engineering Firm will Have 12 Offices Across the United States

SAN JOSE, Calif. & SEATTLE--()--Salas O’Brien, the leading critical environment, Pacific-region, facilities planning, design and construction management firm announced that it has acquired Kalmans Marshall Engineering, Inc. (KME), a Texas-based firm known for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing consulting engineering work throughout Texas, the Southeast and Midwest. The combined firm will now serve clients nationally from 12 offices across the United States.

As part of the Salas O’Brien, LLC family of companies, KME will be known as KME Salas O’Brien, LLC.

The new business combination will have over 170 professionals, more than 50 of whom are registered professionals. Salas O’Brien is a national leader in critical environments with a focus in clean energy, infrastructure (HVAC, power, plumbing, utilities), telecommunications, data centers, switching centers, health care, universities/colleges, municipalities and commercial centers.

Both companies were founded over 30 years ago and have a long history of outstanding design work and growth. The four KME shareholders will now be Principals and shareholders of the combined organization.

Both companies have strikingly similar histories, rising from modest beginnings to become leaders in their respective geographic regions. KME’s focus has been on mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering since 1980. Salas O’Brien was founded in 1975 as an energy engineering firm with its core competencies in mechanical and electrical engineering design.
