PeopleFluent Enhances Compliance and Diversity Solutions to Help Customers Meet New Federal Regulations

WALTHAM, Mass.--()--PeopleFluent®, a leading social human capital management technology company, today announced updates to two of its Workforce Compliance & Diversity products in compliance with the Department of Labor’s ‘Final Rules’. The new updates affect AAPlanner, which helps HR departments develop affirmative action plans while efficiently monitoring and reporting the effectiveness of the program, and CAAMS, which delivers a comprehensive view of an organization’s workforce compliance and provides dashboards with dynamic reporting and actionable outputs.

In 2013, the U.S. Department of Labor announced changes to Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibits federal contractors and subcontractors from discriminating in employment against individuals with disabilities (IWDs), and the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), which prohibits federal contractors and subcontractors from discriminating in employment against protected veterans. Both of these regulations require federal contractors to take affirmative action to recruit, hire, and promote individuals with disabilities and Veterans.

The regulations, which became effective on March 24, 2014, strengthen the affirmative action provisions of the regulations to aid contractors in their efforts to recruit and hire IWDs and improve job opportunities for individuals with disabilities and Veterans.

“Federal contractors are challenged with an increasingly complicated compliance environment. Implementing Good Faith Efforts, as well as tracking, and measuring their effectiveness, are imperative, as they ensure individuals with disabilities and veterans receive the equal opportunities they deserve,” said Alex Gonzalez, Product Manager, PeopleFluent. “In addition to benefiting contractors, our solutions also prepare our HR professional customers, who are required to understand and comply with these regulations.”

Updates to AAPlanner include an improved preference feature, which affects both goal setting for disability utilization analysis and veteran benchmark percentages by enabling users to change the default values, and an enhanced incumbency analysis. With the updated incumbency analysis, the representation of individuals with disabilities will be calculated and measured against the utilization goal. A bonus feature is also included, which calculates the utilization of Veterans in the workforce so that contractors can gauge their representation.

The updated CAAMS platform features new data requirements, as well as new monitoring reports for individuals with disabilities and veterans. With the new monitoring reports, customers can obtain both disability goal summaries and veteran benchmark summaries.

These enhancements come as part of PeopleFluent’s continued commitment to helping organizations design and manage their Good Faith efforts. The company recently made enhancements to its Compliance Reporting Center (CRC), an automated affirmative action tracking and reporting system. CRC enables federal contractors to document federally-mandated Good Faith Effort activity in a secure repository that can be readily accessed in the event of an OFCCP audit. Proper recordkeeping and tracking of Good Faith Effort activities for Individuals with Disabilities and Veterans is now even more critical. The system addresses the ever-changing needs of the contractor community, while enabling high-performance, inclusive work environments.
