Code Fellows Expands Course Offerings to Support Software Developers of All Skill Levels

Digital Trade School Now Offers Development Accelerators Alongside Daytime Bootcamps and Evening Foundations Courses

SEATTLE--()--Code Fellows, a Seattle-based digital trade school, today announced that it has reconfigured its course offerings to address a broader spectrum of student skills, training and experience levels.

Code Fellows is now offering 8-week Development Accelerators for more experienced developers looking to accelerate their career. While the curriculum is similar to Code Fellows’ previous 8-week offerings, it has now been optimized to serve a more advanced student body. For less-experienced students, Code Fellows has introduced a 4-week full-time Bootcamp as an alternative path to its evening Foundations courses that were launched in February. Only students participating in Development Accelerator programs will be eligible for Code Fellows’ $60k+ and $100k+ job-offer guarantee.

“By modifying our course offerings, we’re able to provide a learning plan that’s tailored for each individual student based on the skills and experience they’re bringing to the table,” said Kristin Smith, Code Fellows CEO. “While most in the industry take a ‘one-course-fits-all’ approach, we’re ushering in a modular system that will not only enhance our student success rate, but it will also ensure that each student gets the maximum value out of their Code Fellows learning experience.”

The new daytime Bootcamp sessions, where students will dive into the foundations of computer science and web development, will be offered every quarter starting in August. The twice-weekly evening Foundations courses, which are designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of computer science and web development (Foundations I) and a specific software stack (Foundations II), are currently available and also are available on a quarterly basis.

Development Accelerator courses, designed to build on a student’s existing knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and professional industry experience, are also being offered for a variety of software developers – including those who want to accelerate their skills in Full-Stack JavaScript, iOS, Ruby on Rails, Python, and Front-End UX Design and Development.

According to Code Fellows’ recently published data, 88% of the students who entered its intensive 8-week programs successfully graduated and received a Certificate in their specific field of software development. Additionally, 81% of Code Fellows graduates receive a job offer within three months of graduating – with an average starting salary of $75,600 per year. The top reported salary offer for a Code Fellows graduate in 2013 was $155,000.
