Continuent Enhances Usability With New “Setup and Operate” Webinar Series

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Continuent, Inc.:

WHAT: Continuent, Inc., a leading provider of open source database clustering and replication solutions today announced a comprehensive, four part Tungsten University webinar series that is designed to help organizations fully leverage the Continuent Tungsten solution.

These complimentary courses will explore important details of clustering and replication that will help users understand how to get started with Continuent Tungsten.

WHY: Each Tungsten University webinar is designed to help organizations with data replication and clustering needs, and how to keep mission-critical applications and business-critical services up and running 24x7. These live virtual courses will discuss how to properly configure and manage the cluster nodes to ensure high availability, how to install the different nodes, and provide a better understanding of the internals of the Continuent Tungsten clustering and replication.

WHEN: The hour-long webinars will take place at 1:00 pm EDT/10:00 am PDT. Dates and topics include:

  • Thursday, May 15th: Setup & Operate Tungsten Replicator. Tungsten Replicator is an innovative and reliable tool that can solve your most complex replication problems. In this webinar, we will introduce Replicator installation and show you how to effectively use key features with MySQL.
  • Thursday, May 22nd: Setup & Operate Tungsten Clusters. Attendees will learn how to get from a single database server to a scalable cluster or from a brittle MySQL replication system to a transparent, manageable Continuent Tungsten cluster. Continuent will discuss the benefits of leveraging Continuent Tungsten clustering with MySQL, and walk participants through the steps necessary to implement a Continuent Tungsten cluster in Amazon EC2
  • Thursday, May 29th: Setup & Operate Real-Time Data Loading into Hadoop. Getting data into Hadoop is not difficult, but it is complex if what you want to do is load live or semi-live data into your Hadoop cluster from your MySQL databases. In this course, Continuent will explore existing methods of loading Hadoop data, review how the Hadoop replicator works, and give a live demo showing the replication of data from MySQL into Hadoop.
  • Thursday, June 5th: Setup & Operate Open Source Oracle Replication. Oracle's expensive and complex replication makes it difficult to build cost-effective applications that move data in real-time to data warehouses such as Oracle, Hadoop, Vertica and MySQL. In this session, attendees will learn how Continuent Tungsten solves problems with Oracle replication at a fraction of the cost of other solutions and with less management overhead, much like "Oracle GoldenGate without the price tag."

WHO: The webinar will be led by Continuent executives and technical leaders: Robert Hodges (CEO), MC Brown (Director of Documentation), Jeff Mace (Director of Professional Services), and Linas Virbalas (Senior Software Engineer).
