Two Physicians Added to Apple Valley Medical Clinic

Vivian Fischer, MD, and A. Peter Troedson, MD, have joined the family medicine clinic located at the Apple Valley Medical Center.

APPLE VALLEY, Minn.--()--Vivian Fischer, MD, and A. Peter Troedson, MD, have joined the Apple Valley Medical Clinic, the family medicine clinic located within the Apple Valley Medical Center.

Fischer most recently was part of a medical home clinic at Courage Center, providing primary care to adults with multiple disabilities. Prior to that, she was with Whitesell Medical Staffing, serving as emergency room, clinic and urgent care physician in various rural and underserved Minnesota locations. She received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and served her residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. “I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and physicians here,” she said of the Apple Valley Medical Clinic, “and I am excited to return to full-time primary care in an independently owned clinic.”

Troedson has worked in the Apple Valley Medical Center’s 24-hour Urgent Care on a part-time basis since 1990. He also has served as a family medicine physician in Burnsville, Edina, Sandstone and St. Peter, Minn., and as a hospitalist in addiction medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul. Troedson received his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago and completed his residency at the University of Minnesota, Department of Family Practice and Community Health. “I have been impressed with the growth of the Apple Valley Medical Clinic and the stability of the physicians,” he said. “I consider the clinic both patient and doctor-friendly.”

Fischer and Troedson join a team of 12 physicians and two physician assistants serving patients at the Apple Valley Medical Clinic. They also will see patients in the Urgent Care Center, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We are excited to welcome these two outstanding physicians to our team,” said Mike Foley, Administrator and Chief Operating Officer of the clinic. “Our clinic experiences more than 100,000 patient visits every year, and this number continues to grow. We want to make sure we have enough physicians to provide the quality care that our patients have come to expect at the Apple Valley Medical Clinic.”

The Apple Valley Medical Center is celebrating its 40th anniversary this summer, having begun as a family medicine clinic in 1974. A Family Night for the community is planned for July 15 to mark the occasion.
