BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Publicity Club of New England, the region’s oldest not-for-profit public relations trade organization, today announced that WBZ-TV Morning News Anchor David Wade will host the 46th Annual Bell Ringer Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Revere Hotel Boston.
“David is not only a leading New England broadcast journalist, he is a favorite host among our Publicity Club membership,” said Maryanne Keeney, president of the Publicity Club of New England for the 2013-2014 season. “David has a wonderful sense of humor and brings a great energy to the evening’s festivities, so we’re thrilled that he’s returning to host the Bell Ringer Award Ceremony, once again.”
A multiple award-winning journalist, Wade co-anchors WBZ-TV Morning News weekday newscasts at 4:30AM, 5:00AM and 6:00AM with Co-Anchor Kerry Connolly, Meteorologist Todd Gutner, and Traffic Reporter Michelle Roberts. He also co-anchors WBZ-TV News at Noon with Co-Anchor Paula Ebben.
Over the course of his distinguished broadcast career, Wade has been nominated for dozens of Boston/New England Emmy Awards and has won 21, including two for Best Anchor, two for Best Reporter and multiple wins for Best Writer. He also won an Associated Press award in 2002.
For this year’s charity auction recipient, David has selected the Pan-Mass Challenge, an annual bike-a-thon to raise money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
