AUTOMOTIVE
WORLD gathered unrivalled number of engineers and decision makers from
Japanese/Asian OEM and Tier 1 (several hundred professionals from each
of the Japanese top 3 OEM, TOYOTA, NISSAN and HONDA), gaining huge
support from their top management. The great example is the Advisory
Committee, consisting of executives of TOYOTA, NISSAN, HONDA, MAZDA,
MITSUBISHI, GM JAPAN, KEIHIN, DENSO, HITACHI AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS,
CONTINENTAL, BOSCH, MAGNA and so on.
Achieving high quality and
quantity of visitors, the show achieved very high level of exhibitor
satisfaction, which led to the fact that most of the exhibitors applied
for the next show during the 2014 show.

[ADAS/Autonomous Drive]
Featuring the hottest topics, new
“Driver Assistance/Autonomous Driving System Zone” was launched. A large
number of demonstrations and interactive exhibits of autonomous driving
technologies were seen inside the exhibit halls and also at the special
exhibit “Autonomous Vehicle Exhibit Corner”.
[Semiconductor and Electronic Components]
The main aisles
were lined with large booths by leading companies for the core
technology of automotive electronics – semiconductor (ALTERA, FREESCALE,
INFINEON, RENESAS ELECTRONICS, ROHM, STMICROELECTRONICS, XILINX, etc.),
electronic components (FDK, MURATA MANUFACTURING, NICHICON, NIPPON
CHEMI-CON, RUBYCON, TAIYO YUDEN, etc.) and many others.
[Weight Reduction]
Weight Reduction was one of the fields
which showed the most powerful growth (35% growth from 2013).
Especially, concept cars made by new and advanced materials exhibited by
leading material manufacturers gathered huge attention.
[Technologies for eco-friendly vehicles back in the spotlight]
With
practical use of fuel cell vehicles on the horizon, technologies for
eco-friendly vehicles are back in the spotlight. Many exhibitors
presented the latest technologies applicable not only to EV and HEV but
also to FCV.
Next show
AUTOMOTIVE WORLD 2015 will take place from January
14 to 16, 2015 in Tokyo.
Not only it aims to expand the scale again
by more than 10% (570 exhibitors), a new show “1st
Automotive Components Processing Technology Expo” is newly launched
inside it.
