FRISCO, Texas--()--Agricen, a Loveland Products company delivering applied, biochemical-based solutions for efficient and sustainable plant nutrition, today announced a new webinar, “Improving Crop Yields with Starter Programs,” being held on Wednesday, March 5th and again on Wednesday, March 12th. The webinar will discuss how growers can use sustainable biochemical technologies to speed the conversion of nutrients into plant-available forms and facilitate nutrient uptake from starter applications. It will also feature Dr. Daniel Kaiser, an assistant professor and extension specialist from the University of Minnesota, who will discuss what to expect when banding nutrients with corn seed.

Growers, crop consultants and others interested in efficient growing programs can register for a morning (8 am CT) or afternoon (4 pm CT) session by visiting http://info.agricen.com/starter-webinar-2014. Participants and those who wish to learn more about starter programs are also invited to join the presenters immediately following the March 12th morning session for a Twitter conversation.

“Crops that get off to an improved start can maintain an advantage during the growing season,” said Michael Totora, President and CEO, Agricen. “This starter webinar will show growers how sustainable biochemical technologies can benefit their existing starter programs by maximizing the efficiency of applied nutrients and improving plant performance, such as by increasing feeder tip roots and root mass. We’re also pleased to have the participation of Dr. Dan Kaiser from the University of Minnesota, who will share some of his current starter research findings.”

The use of starter fertilizer programs is an agricultural practice aimed at improving plant performance and yield potential by delivering plant nutrients in the “right place” (next to the seed) at the “right time” (before the root system fully develops). Accomplish® LM and Titan® PBA, two biochemical fertilizer catalysts manufactured by Agricen for distribution by Loveland Products and Crop Production Services, can be used with any starter program, from 10-34-0 to next-generation products such as RiseR® and Black Label® Zn, to provide season-long benefits. Both Accomplish LM and Titan PBA add concentrated biochemicals to a nutrient program, interacting with the soil chemistry to release nutrients and facilitate root system growth and nutrient uptake. During the webinar, participants will see how this process works, and how it can lead to better plant performance and increased yields in a starter program.
