Health Dialog Unveils New Decision Aid for Stable Angina

New Video Publicly Available During the Month of February in Honor of American Heart Month

BOSTON--()--For many people diagnosed with coronary heart disease, living with symptoms like recurrent chest pain due to angina can be troublesome. Fortunately, modern therapies are increasingly effective in prolonging life and relieving symptoms, but finding the approach that is best suited to their individual situation can be confusing. To help educate those in the decision making process, Health Dialog today unveiled a new decision aid, titled “Treatment Choices for Stable Chest Discomfort,” an important resource that can provide helpful treatment option information for people diagnosed with stable angina and experiencing symptoms such as chest discomfort.

In honor of American Heart Month, Health Dialog will make an overview video from its stable chest discomfort decision aid publicly available during the month of February. The full decision aid, which includes additional videos and content, will be available online and in DVD and print formats in March, 2014. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and American Heart Month aims to raise awareness about the condition and educate people about a heart healthy lifestyle.

“Heart disease affects 600,0001 people in the United States each year,” said Peter Goldbach, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Health Dialog. “At Health Dialog we are committed to providing people with the information and resources they need to be informed patients and proactive in the healthcare decision making process with their doctors. Being diagnosed with coronary heart disease can be very unsettling; our decision aids are designed to help arm people with the information and tools they need to make the healthcare decisions that are right for them.”

With its award-winning suite of patient decision aids, Health Dialog is committed to making a positive impact on people’s lives by putting the right tools in hand to influence behavior change. Health Dialog’s decision aids are currently available to more than 13 million individuals and are distributed as part of the company’s broader Population Health Solutions, which include analytics to find the right people in a population, engagement tools and techniques to catch their attention, and expert health coaches to empower their choices and change their behavior.
