Kansas Bureau of Investigation Launches Mobile Criminal History Searches

New single sign-on process and responsive design technology added among key updates to the popular application

TOPEKA, Kan.--()--Kansas Bureau of Investigation has unveiled an updated version of their popular Kansas Criminal History Record Search application. Developed in collaboration with Kansas.gov, the enhanced application allows users to instantly conduct searches of criminal history records from smartphones, tablets or desktop computers.

The enhancements also incorporate KanAccess, a new Kansas.gov login process that allows users to manage their Kansas.gov services with a single sign-on. The enhancements to the mobile experience make searching with a tablet or smartphone simple and available anywhere.

The new login process, as well as the mobile enhancements, were created in response to feedback that we received directly from Kansans who conduct criminal record searches. We are looking for ways to add value to our applications and we feel the Kansas Criminal History Record Search has been improved to the benefit of our users,” said David Hutchings, Associate Director.

The state of Kansas allows the release of Kansas criminal history records to the general public, as well as to a variety of users with specific rights and entitlements. These record checks are fee-based where both the fee and the extent of information released are dependent on Kansas statutes and regulations.

To conduct a record check today, visit the application at: https://www.kansas.gov/criminalhistory/

You will need the following to complete a record check:

  • Kansas.gov KanAccess credentials
  • A form of payment (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express)
  • At least the first name, last name and date of birth of the person being searched
