Peirce College Launches Degree Completion Program

Students may apply up to 90 existing college credits to earn their bachelor’s degree

PHILADELPHIA--()--Today, Peirce College announced a new degree completion program to help working adult learners complete their bachelor’s degree and foster career advancement. With classes beginning this fall, Peirce’s Bachelor of Science in Integrated Leadership allows students to apply up to 90 existing college credits from a previously attended college or university to help them finish their college degree quickly. This new offering further cements Peirce’s long-standing commitment to career-oriented education in Philadelphia.

The United States economy will produce 55 million job openings by 2020, according to a recent study by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce. Sixty-five percent of those jobs will require some level of training beyond a high-school education or equivalent. At the current rate of college completion in the U.S., the Center predicts 5 million jobs will not be filled due to workers lacking the required post-secondary credentials.

Peirce’s new degree completion program will help bridge the gap by allowing working adults to apply their existing college credits toward finishing their bachelor's degree. With a college degree in hand, many will be able to move up in their careers and take on leadership roles. The program meets the needs of working adult learners via eight-week accelerated courses offered year-round, both online and on campus, and prepares students for opportunities in a wide variety of sectors, including business, information technology, education, healthcare, and public service.

This program is ideal for students who have a minimum of 45 college-level credits with a grade of C or higher from a previously attended college or university. In total, students have the opportunity to apply up to 90 college level credits toward their degree. Students will continue their academic progress by studying with other working professionals in a supportive environment that provides one-on-one tutoring, advising, and career development assistance as they advance toward degree completion. The program’s streamlined curriculum allows students to apply it to a variety of career paths, making it a convenient and seamless educational option for working professionals in all sectors.

“The launch of Peirce College’s Integrated Leadership degree completion program exemplifies our devotion to helping working adult learners in every step of their educational journey,” said Rita Toliver-Roberts, Vice President of Academic Advancement at Peirce College. “We created this bachelor’s degree program as another means of providing accessibility and attainability to higher education for non-traditional students. By assisting students in meeting their higher educational goals, we hope an increasing number of working adults in the Greater Philadelphia area will ultimately advance their careers,” continued Toliver-Roberts.

Students can apply for the Integrated Leadership program by completing the online application form. For more information, visit www.peirce.edu/degreecompletion; call 888.467.347, ext. 9000; or email info@peirce.edu.
