The Refinishing Touch Wins California Multiple Award Schedule Contract

Leading furniture asset management provider granted CMAS contract to meet government procurement needs in the state of California

ALPHARETTA, Ga.--()--The Refinishing Touch, a world leader in on-site environmentally safe and sustainable furniture refinishing and. re-upholstering for private and public organizations, has been approved to provide services in the state of California through its California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS), number 4-13-03-0324B.

Granted by the California Department of General Services, the CMAS Program establishes contracts based on Federal General Service Administration (GSA) schedules, which The Refinishing Touch achieved in 1998 under contract number GS-29F-0002M. The Refinishing Touch was also awarded the GSA Evergreen Award in 2000 for its commitment to sustainability and environmental-preservation.

Since the company’s inception in 1977, The Refinishing Touch has delivered award-winning, sustainable and fiscally-responsible furniture asset management solutions to various industries, including the government, higher education, and hospitality. Through its refinishing, re-upholstery and remanufacturing services, which bring existing furniture assets back to like-new condition and eliminate the need to purchase new pieces, clients can save up to 80 percent in total project expenditure, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90 percent.

Mario Insenga, founder and president of The Refinishing Touch, said: “We are very proud to have been recognized as a supplier in the state of California. Government agencies in the United States are extremely conscientious about their responsibility to appoint service providers that are proven to be reliable, efficient, cost-effective, and experienced. By selecting such providers, government agencies and edifices can complete projects that are fiscally-sound and environmentally-sustainable. The Refinishing Touch has already completed hundreds of furniture asset management projects across the US to standards that exceed federal requirements, and are fully-approved by the General Services Administration.”

Insenga concluded: “We will continue to work hard to help public organizations in California manage their furniture assets cost-effectively and sustainably, instead of replacing them, creating fresh environments that delight property users, reduce carbon footprints, and deliver a superior return on investment for all US taxpayers.”

Earlier this year, the company received ISO 9001:2008 certification, and is contracted to work across all 27 agencies of the federal government. In the past, The Refinishing Touch has completed furniture renovation projects within the US Superior Court, US Congress, Department of Defense, Executive Office of the President, and more.
