The company, previously headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, considered many locations including Madison, but ultimately decided on a location that would maximize the benefits to their customers. South Florida was selected for the new operation due to its close proximity to three international airports and a seaport, the available workforce and tax incentives, as well as the favourable climate.

The expansion has allowed SIMTEC to add several production units for the manufacture of LSR and LSR 2-Shot components as well as top of the line equipment for the new QA laboratory and mold construction and maintenance shop.
