SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Union Bank, N.A., today announced that longtime financial services executive Ranjana B. Clark will join the company on July 1 as Senior Executive Vice President and head of Global Treasury Management. She succeeds retiring Senior Executive Vice President JoAnn M. Bourne, who has served as head of Global Treasury Management since 2003.
Clark will oversee several significant lines of business within Global Treasury Management: Corporate and Institutional Treasury Services, Commercial Treasury Services, eCommerce, Commercial Product Management and Global Trust Services. She will be based in San Francisco and will report to Union Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Masashi Oka, who is also Chief Executive Officer for the Americas for The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU).

Clark was most recently Chief Customer and Marketing Officer at PayPal, an eBay, Inc. company. Prior to PayPal, she was with The Western Union Company in a dual role as President of Global Business Payments and Executive Vice President and Head of Global Strategy. Previously, Clark spent 20 years with Wells Fargo and its predecessor companies, where she held a number of senior management positions. She was a Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Wachovia and member of the Operating Committee.
She also served as head of Wachovia’s Treasury Services division, a business focused on providing enterprises with working capital, liquidity and supply chain management solutions. Clark led the merger integration, growth and transformation of that business into an industry leading position. She was also head of Strategic Development for the Capital Markets Division and head of Strategic Planning. Prior to Wachovia, she spent five years with Deutsche Bank in Mumbai, India.
Clark earned an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delhi. She has held Certified Treasury Professional and Series 7, 8, 24 and 63 securities licenses.
This year she was recognized as one of The Most Influential Women in Payments by PaymentsSource and Bank Technology News, and one of the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Women of Influence. This follows her repeated recognition as one of the most influential leaders in payments and banking by U.S. Banker, American Banker and Treasury & Risk Management. Clark currently serves on the Board of Visitors of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
