4Change Energy Announces the Four Nonprofit Agencies That Will Benefit from the Company’s Guaranteed Giving

4Change Energy customers will decide each charity’s share of the company’s annual contributions

DALLAS--()--4Change Energy, a low-priced, Texas electricity provider that is committed to giving back to the community, has named the 4 charitable organizations that will benefit from its commitment.

The company, which began offering retail electricity services in August, is able to offer competitive electricity rates by having a simplified business model with primarily online services. It has set out to make a difference in the communities it serves by contributing 4 percent of annual profits to the local chapters of established nonprofits that fight hunger, fight cancer, provide disaster relief or help children who face serious illness.

“4Change Energy stands for providing low prices, an easy customer experience, worry free service and support for Texans who are in great need,” said John Geary, president of 4Change Energy. “By working with these 4 great causes, we, along with our customers, can make a significant impact to support their charitable missions and to make a lasting change for Texans in need.”

The organizations that will share 4Change Energy’s giving are the local chapters of:

  • Texas Food Bank Network.
  • American Cancer Society.
  • American Red Cross.
  • Heroes for Children.

4Change Energy customers can choose which of the 4 charities they would like to receive the company’s support. The company tallies up the customer votes and divides its profit sharing contributions to the charities based on its customers’ preferences. These contributions from 4Change Energy will flow to the Texas communities where 4Change Energy operates.

Comprising 21 local food banks, the Texas Food Bank Network provides a unified voice among food banks in support of its common mission to end hunger in Texas. Together, the Food Bank Network ensures that people in all 254 counties in Texas have access to healthy nutritious food on a regular basis.

For 100 years, the American Cancer Society has invested time and money to find the causes of and cures for cancer. With research at the heart of its mission, the American Cancer Society continues to discover answers that save lives and get closer to finding the ultimate cure.

The American Red Cross has five key service areas: disaster relief; support for U.S. military families; blood product collection and distribution; health and safety services; and international services. The goal of the American Red Cross is to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies through the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Heroes for Children provides financial and social assistance to Texas families with children battling cancer, allowing families to focus on the most important part of treatment – the child. In 2012, Heroes for Children served more than 900 families with financial assistance, milestone celebrations, Holiday Heroes and through Laptops of Love.
