SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Matrix Absence Management, Inc., (Matrix), a leader in helping employers proactively manage employee absence, productivity and related payments, has introduced employer reporting and analysis functionality to its industry leading mobile application. This new technology allows HR and benefits administrators to view, manage and analyze employee absence data remotely from their smartphone or tablet.

Matrix’s legacy eServices app was the first to allow employees of client companies to use a mobile app to report intermittent absence from work, speeding the processing, management and payment of appropriate statutory and corporate benefits. Like its predecessor, the new app is integrated with Matrix’s secure online portal, which features communication, reporting and analysis capabilities for employees and administrators.

Matrix has long been a technology leader in the absence management space. More than 13 years ago, Matrix was among the first to allow telephonic claim intake for virtually any type of employee absence, and in 2007 pioneered secure online claim intake.

“Helping employers effectively manage employee absence isn’t an HR function, it’s a business imperative, especially in today’s fiscal and employment climate,” said Kenneth Cope, president of Matrix. “An effective program is defined by paying attention to the employee experience while remaining committed to each employer’s unique definition of success. Today, that means making communication and access to actionable data fast, easy, integrated and – by necessity – mobile.”

Matrix integrates workers’ compensation, short and long term disability, return-to-work services, and personal/family and medical leave (FMLA) programs to help employers realize time, efficiency and productivity gains. Matrix is also the administrator and claims processing platform for large case integrated disability clients of sister company Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company.

Based on the premise that employees make up the most costly – and valuable – of a company’s resources, Matrix focuses on reducing the lost productivity suffered when employees miss work for any reason. This service portfolio, called Absence Solutions®, streamlines benefit delivery, simplifies administration and reduces overall benefit costs for companies nationwide employing nearly 2 million men and women.

With the enhanced mobile app, Matrix clients can view dashboard reporting, access claims information, view and manage eCommunications and contact claims examiners instantly. It takes some of the most powerful capabilities of the eServices portal and brings it as close as the administrator’s smartphone or tablet.

“These developments reflect the quickening pace and increasing financial pressures of everyone’s lives,” Cope added. “Benefit administrators and HR professionals are forced to deal with growing regulation and shrinking budgets. Every enhancement to communication and efficiency – every time we can help strip out unnecessary process and ‘noise’ – is a net gain for our clients.”

The new mobile app is available for free download through Apple’s App Store®, Google Play® or through Matrix’s eServices web platform, with which it integrates. Clients must have the mobile service enabled through their eServices account in order to use the reporting and new employer functions.

Headquartered in San Jose, California, Matrix has service locations nationwide, including claims hubs in San Jose, Phoenix, AZ, Hawthorne, NY and Portland, OR. Matrix clients employ nearly 2 million employees nationwide with total payrolls exceeding $60 billion.
