Winners Announced for 2013 ALFA Senior Living Art Showcase

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--()--The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has announced the winners of the 2013 ALFA Senior Living Art Showcase, a competition honoring the passion for community and extraordinary talents of seniors in assisted living, independent living, and memory care communities across the country.

Out of a pool of over 900 submissions, six winners were chosen. Three Fan Favorite Winners were chosen based on popular vote through Facebook, and three Grand Prize Winners were chosen based on their interpretation of this year’s theme: Celebrating the Beauty of Life. The six winners are:

Each of the six winners will receive a painting party, featuring a variety of art supplies courtesy of the art showcase’s sponsor Sargent Art, for his or her community. Each winner will also receive recognition of his or her piece at the ALFA 2013 Conference & Expo, on the ALFA website, and on the official art showcase t-shirt, which can be purchased at alfa.org/tee. The art showcase t-shirt also features a number of honorable mentions, chosen based on their artistic merit and adherence to theme.

Grimes, ALFA president and CEO. “The six winning pieces serve as shining examples of the talent and engagement that is present in senior living communities across the country.”
