Forbes’ Tom Post to Address Journalism’s Seismic Shift: What it Means for Business at UTC Annual Members’ Meeting, April 12

Mr. Post will also give his observations on why Utah has been Best State for Business for three years

SALT LAKE CITY--()--Technology is—and always has been—the agent of disruption. Are tech companies themselves now vulnerable to tumultuous change? Take a page from the media business: not long ago a staid, popular and profitable industry. Today, it’s a shambles, with every company scrambling to adapt to rapid transformation—or die.

Tom Post, managing editor at Forbes Magazine, will present this message to the Utah Technology Council (UTC) (http://www.utahtech.org) at its Annual Members’ Meeting on April 12, 2013. The meeting will run from Noon to 1:30 p.m. and is being held at The Grand America Hotel located at 555 S. Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. To register for this event, please visit: http://www.utahtech.org/utc_events/Annual_Members_Meeting.aspx.

In addition to hearing from a nationally renowned keynote speaker, the UTC will elect board members and trustees and celebrate achievements from the last 12 months. Peer awards will be given in the following categories: CEO, CFO, CTO, Emerging Executive, HR Executive, Marketing Executive and Sales Executive. The UTC will also give Legislator of the Year awards to Utah legislators who have provided key support to Utah’s various technology sectors in the 2013 legislative session.

“Our annual Member’s Meeting provides UTC members with a tremendous opportunity,” said Richard R. Nelson, president and CEO of the UTC. “In addition to receiving top-notch business advice from Mr. Post, members have the opportunity to reflect on last year’s accomplishments and experience the value of UTC’s significant network, including meeting many of the trustees who will be hosting.”
