PEACH SPRINGS, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grand Canyon Resort Corporation/Grand Canyon West (GCRC) is proud to announce the company’s new direct partnership opportunities for travel and tour operators, allowing vendors to bring the spectacle and excitement of the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a Hualapai River Runners whitewater rafting trip or a warm, restful stay at Hualapai Ranch to their customers.
“It’s an exciting new day at Grand Canyon Resort Corporation,” said Jennifer Turner, the newly appointed CEO of GCRC. “These new direct partnership opportunities are just a glimmer of things to come. There’s a new leadership team in place at GCRC that is committed to establishing new relationships in the tourism industry.”
Turner said the company is also looking forward to making improvements to all of its attractions. More details on these new initiatives will follow in coming weeks, including enhancements such as paving for the entry road and a new transportation fleet.
GCRC is currently in discussion with individual tour operators and is accepting private contracts with travel and tour operators both nationally and internationally. These new opportunities are open to any agency representing travel and tour operators, private familiarization tours and destination marketing organizations, to name just a few.
“In the past, we relied upon a sole source to provide service and to maintain relationships with tour operators,” said Turner. “We’re turning over a new leaf to ensure that tour operators are receiving the quality service they need to better serve their own customers. You no longer need to go through a third party to bring your customers to the Grand Canyon.”
While this is a new business model, GCRC emphasizes that the tourist-facing aspects of the business remain unchanged – all GCRC attractions, destinations and shuttle service remain fully operational.
GCRC offers incentive-based contracts, as well as volume bonuses based on business with travel and tour operators.
“Better pricing, more extensive tour offers, bonus potentials – there’s a lot to be excited about,” said Turner. “This new business model will provide travelers with new opportunities to experience the rich heritage of the Hualapai tribe and the breathtaking scenery of the Grand Canyon.”

ABOUT GRAND CANYON RESORT CORPORATION
Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is wholly owned by the Hualapai tribe and is located in Peach Springs, Arizona. In 1988, the Hualapai Indian tribe, which has occupied the land since 1883, purchased GCRC, which has welcomed millions of visitors each year to tour the area, including the nearby lodge, ranch, river rafting company, and Grand Canyon West. To further increase tourism in the area, the Hualapai built the Grand Canyon Skywalk in 2007. The Skywalk is a glass, horseshoe-shaped bridge that enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West, suspending them 4,000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder.
