BAE Systems Names David Herr Executive Vice President, Service Sectors

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--BAE Systems announced today that David Herr, president of the company’s Support Solutions sector, will become executive vice president, Service Sectors, effective immediately.

Herr, who succeeds Lawrence Prior, will lead the development and implementation of integrated business strategies to support the Service Sectors, which consist of Intelligence and Security and Support Solutions, in maintaining their current market leadership positions, pursuing new opportunities in the U.S. and internationally, and creating new market strongholds.

Herr also joins Linda P. Hudson, president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc., and Tom Arseneault executive vice president, Product Sectors, to form the Office of the President and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc.

Most recently Herr served as president of the Support Solutions sector, where he led more than 12,500 employees in providing a portfolio of air, land and maritime services to the U.S. Department of Defense and federal civilian customers. Before his role at Support Solutions, Herr was vice president of Commercial Avionics for BAE Systems' Platform Solutions business, and prior to that, he served as vice president of operations for the company's former Electronics & Integrated Solutions operating group and vice president of operations for Platform Solutions.

Before joining BAE Systems, Herr held positions in procurement, program management, production operations, and product support for General Electric Aircraft Engines and Lockheed Martin. He also was a senior buyer for ITT Aerospace Optical and a material control supervisor for the International Harvester Company. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Francis University and a master's of business administration from Northern Kentucky University.

Herr will continue to serve as the acting president of the Support Solutions sector until a successor is named.
