NORTHAMPTON, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New service means householders can pay TrustATrader members by credit & debit card for work done in the home
Low-cost card payment services provider Payatrader.com has announced that it’s working with TrustATrader (one of the UK’s leading directory services that helps consumers find local trusted traders and suppliers) to provide a low cost credit & debit card processing for its members. The new initiative, launched last week, gives consumers more choice and convenience when paying for work undertaken in the home.
As part of its growth strategy, TrustATrader asked Payatrader to design a branded payment experience for members and to introduce a new online payment button for consumers – making TrustATrader a ‘one-stop’ shop where potential customers can locate, engage, review and pay local tradesmen.
Gary McEwen, entrepreneur and MD at TrustATrader said, “We know consumers will be delighted with the new payment option as many already expect to be able to pay tradesmen by credit and debit card. By offering a low cost solution, we are making it easier for our members to accept card payments and to give their customers more choice and greater flexibility when paying for larger jobs or more expensive work.
McEwan, who founded the company in 2005 as a result of personal frustration with poor quality workmanship and in having no recourse when things went wrong, has since constructed a directory of over 3,500 high quality, vetted tradesmen across the UK. Last year, the company spent over £1 million on local radio advertising and achieved over 70,000 searches per month from potential customers for members. He added; “the new payment facility will be widely promoted to consumers in the New Year as part of our 2013 radio campaign and is expected to drive even more traffic to the site”.
The announcement is the latest in a series of partnerships where Payatrader has been adopted as the “payment provider of choice” by organisations which champion and support small businesses, trade and other membership organisations. Bill Thomson, MD at Payatrader.com said, “We are delighted with the new partnership and have already seen a strong response to the offer. Over the coming months we will continue to work with the TrustATrader team to develop the consumer messaging and ensure we achieve the best possible take up and use of the service”.
Payatrader, launched earlier this year, has a rapidly growing user base and is proving to be a popular alternative to traditional providers. It’s a very simple and transparent service - where businesses only pay when they take a payment, yet still benefit from competitive rates, an unrivalled number of integrated payment channels (enabling users to take credit & debit cards online, by telephone, mobile, email and using a 24/7 payments line) and a straightforward application process, enabling a quick set-up.
It can also cater for a broad range of business types from start-ups with no trading history to established companies looking to reduce costs or for greater payment functionality, flexibility & control.
