Roku Expands Executive Leadership Team to Fuel Growth

Appoints GMs to Head Content/Services, Devices and OEM Groups

SARATOGA, Calif.--()--Roku® today announced it has expanded its executive leadership team to include three general managers that together will grow the company’s revenue. Now at Roku, the three new hires include Steve Shannon, Collette Bunton and Chas Smith. Each brings a wealth of expertise to their business area.

“I couldn’t be more delighted about the addition of these three new executives at Roku,” said Roku Founder and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Wood. “Each brings a wealth of relevant expertise to their respective area and together with our leadership team they will guide Roku into 2013 as we break new ground in streaming entertainment.”

Steve Shannon will head Roku’s content and services group which is responsible for establishing new content relationships, acquiring entertainment and growing services for the Roku platform. Steve has co-founded and led many successful companies that have shaped the digital living room. Prior to Roku, Steve held senior executive roles at digital media companies, RealD and Gemstar-TV Guide. Steve also has deep experience growing digital media start-ups from the ground up. Steve also co-founded and Akimbo Systems, the first Internet video-on-demand service for television. Prior to Akimbo, Steve launched ReplayTV, the first digital video recorder and drove product, marketing, and sales strategies.

Collette Bunton joins Roku to lead the devices group which is responsible for getting Roku products into the hands of consumers around the world. Collette has worked with many successful consumer electronics and technology companies over the last 25 years. Prior to Roku, Collette held roles at Logitech as vice president of mergers and acquisitions and as vice president of sales and marketing. She has also held sales roles at 3M, Compaq and Acer.

Chas Smith guides Roku’s efforts to expand the Roku platform reach beyond the set-top box and into other consumer electronics devices. He has been working with Roku and earlier this year helped introduce the Roku Streaming Stick to the consumer electronics industry. He also spearheaded the Roku Ready program where manufacturers implement mobile high-definition link (MHL) technology into their devices and work closely with Roku to receive product certification. He will continue to grow relationships with manufacturers to further seed the Roku platform into their devices. Previously, Chas was general manager for Avid Technology's video division and vice president of worldwide sales, marketing and service. Prior to joining Avid, Chas worked at Digidesign, where he ran worldwide sales and marketing.
