PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum (UVEF) today announced winners of its 2012 “Top 25 Under Five” Award, spotlighting outstanding Utah entrepreneurs and start-up companies. Award ceremonies were held at Novell in Provo with InnoVentures sponsoring the event. UVEF recognized Campus Book Rentals, an innovative online textbook rental company currently serving more than 5,800 campuses, as the number one performer among nominees. Today’s Top 25 have collectively created more than 600 jobs and $135 million in revenue.
“We had a record number of terrific award applicants to consider for this year’s Top 25 Under 5,” said UVEF 2012 chairman Matt Bowman. “The 2012 crop of UVEF top performers continues to showcase Utah’s leadership among states emerging from a tough economy.”
Amy Rees Anderson, CEO of MediConnect Global, emceed this year’s event. Anderson has founded and led several successful healthcare technology ventures, including MediConnect Global, a leader in medical record retrieval and management that was acquired earlier this year by Verisk Analytics for $377 million. Under her leadership, MediConnect Global built one of the largest health information exchanges in the country. Anderson has been the recipient of a number of prestigious awards for her leadership and business acumen and her company’s growth and success, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007 and the Utah Business CEO of the Year award in 2012.
