TEANECK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kumon North America today announced a settlement with a former franchisee, Maria Wachtel. Pursuant to the terms of the settlement, each side releases the other from all claims. The settlement also requires Wachtel to pay $2,500 to Kumon.
“Kumon is pleased that this matter has been amicably resolved and that further litigation has been avoided,” said Robert Lichtenstein, corporate counsel for Kumon North America.
This settlement ends the lawsuit that Wachtel filed against Kumon North America in 2011 seeking damages arising from the alleged wrongful termination of her franchise, as well as the counterclaim that Kumon North America filed against Wachtel.
