PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012 Honors Fan Favorites in Movies, Music and Television

Evening’s Winners Include: Bridesmaids, Ellen Degeneres, Morgan Freeman, Maroon 5, How I Met Your Mother, Demi Lovato, Emma Stone and More!

LOS ANGELES--()--Winners for PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012 were announced during a live broadcast hosted by Kaley Cuoco at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live on Wednesday, January 11th (9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. To determine the winners, fans cast a record-breaking 230+ million votes on, the official People’s Choice Awards Facebook app and Twitter. Two categories remained open for online voting through the first hour of the broadcast – 2 Broke Girls was chosen as “Favorite New TV Comedy,” while Person of Interest was chosen as “Favorite New TV Drama.” Faith Hill and Demi Lovato delivered the evening’s musical performances.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012 featured the return of “Favorite Movie Star Under 25” a category presented by Moviefone, which was awarded to Chloë Grace Moretz. In one of the highlights of the evening, Morgan Freeman was presented the inaugural “Favorite Movie Icon” award, a custom-made trophy designed by Waterford Crystal. Waterford Crystal is the official designer and manufacturer of the People's Choice Awards trophies and recipients across all 43 categories receive an official Waterford Crystal People’s Choice Award.

The People’s Choice official website at houses the voting platform where fans determine the categories, nominees and winners for the annual awards show. Every year, potential nominees are determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music sales and data, then vetted through EPoll Market Research. Fred Nelson is the President of People’s Choice, and the awards show is produced by Procter & Gamble Productions, Inc. [NYSE:PG], which is represented by MediaVest Worldwide, Inc., supervisors of the production. Kaley Cuoco is the host of PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012 and Mark Burnett is the Executive Producer.
