Menagerie Creative Wins Coveted Hollywood Reporter Silver Key Art Award for Outstanding Packaging Design of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – Six Pack”

TUSTIN, Calif.--()--Menagerie Creative, a leading creative design firm known for marketing the heart of entertainment to the world, was honored with a Silver Key Art Award at The 40th Annual Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards on October 19 at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood.

The award acknowledges Menagerie Creative’s unique packaging design for the “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia -- Six Pack” which features a thematically appropriate six pack of beer to delineate six seasons worth of the popular show. From more than 250 packaging entries and three rounds of critical judging, only three Silver Key Art Awards were awarded. Winning packaging represent the highest mark of excellence in home entertainment marketing by engaging audiences through their unique synthesis of brand story, design creativity, physical materials and consumer experience.

“We are incredibly proud to be a part of such a prestigious event with stringent peer-based judging guidelines that are intent on finding work that truly stands apart,” says Cheryl Savala, executive creative director at Menagerie Creative. “We are even more thrilled to take home our very own highly coveted Hollywood Reporter Key Art award for our ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia – Six Pack’ project which allowed us to flex our creative muscle while staying true to the heart of the story.”

The CLIO Connection

The CLIO Awards have been rated as the "best judged" awards among the top international advertising awards. With this in mind, The Hollywood Reporter adopted the same system to ensure work is judged solely on the creative merits and not on production budgets, box office receipts or critical acclaim.

Karl Vontz, director of the Key Art and CLIO awards adds, “The Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards were established to identify timeless, groundbreaking original works. Entries are rigorously judged by senior-level industry peers who understand what grand achievement looks like in their space. In fact, jury members had the opportunity to select multiple winners per category or none at all, ensuring only the most creative and deserving work is rewarded.”

Additional Background About The Key Art Award Winners

The Key Art Awards has long been known as one of the premier honors in film, and this year the awards show expanded to also include the fields of marketing and communication in the television, home entertainment and gaming industries to offer more diversity and increased competition.

More than 2,500 works were submitted to this year’s event, each judged by a rigorous standard of excellence set by one of four selective jury panels. Jury chairs included Michael Kahane of Mojo LLC for audio/visual, Bemis Balkind owner Peter Bemis for print, AvatarLabs founder Rex Cook for interactive and Cheryl Savala executive creative director of Menagerie Creative for display and packaging. Three months and three stages of progressively more critical judging yielded a single, highly coveted Grand Key Art award, seven Golds, a handful of Silvers, and a selective group of Bronze winners.
