Online Business Registration is Faster and Easier with the New and Improved Colorado Business Express

Colorado Business Express integrates and automates registration, tax and labor related processes into one easy online transaction

DENVER--()--Registering a new business in Colorado is much easier, thanks to the new and improved Colorado Business Express (CBE), the State of Colorado’s online business registration service: https://www.colorado.gov/ColoradoBusinessExpress.

This newly updated business registration system is consistent with Gov. John Hickenlooper’s commitment to creating an environment in Colorado where businesses can thrive.

Colorado Business Express is practically an all-in-one deal,” Hickenlooper said. “Instead of standing in line at three separate State agencies, businesses can get started online right away with the Colorado Business Express system. We are working hard to reduce the burdens on existing and new businesses throughout Colorado. This integrated online business registration system helps that effort.”

Colorado Business Express eliminates the need for new business owners to use paper forms to register separately with state agencies. Using an already established business or trade name registered with the Colorado Secretary of State, the Colorado Business Express wizard leads filers through the process of applying for a Colorado sales tax license, employee wage withholding account and/or an unemployment insurance account.

“As the gateway for Colorado businesses, we’re taking bold strides to create a more user-friendly, intuitive system to save our customers time and money,” said Colorado Secretary of State, Scott Gessler. “With the launch of the new and improved Colorado Business Express, I’m confident we are on the right track toward those important goals,” said Secretary Gessler.

CBE reduces business registration processing time from hours or days to just minutes. In one transaction, this user-friendly system consolidates business registration information required by multiple government departments and automatically updates those regulatory systems for the business filer.

This is the first time a cooperative project of such magnitude has been undertaken to benefit the business community. The Colorado Department of Revenue, Department of Labor and Employment, Secretary of State, Statewide Internet Portal Authority and Colorado.gov all worked together to create Colorado Business Express.

The Colorado Business Express is a giant leap forward in terms of streamlining government and providing more elegant services to citizens,” said Secretary of Technology and SIPA Board Member Kristin Russell. “Sharing data across government agencies for the benefit of our Colorado businesses exemplifies the ‘enterprise’ vision we embrace and will continue to advance within the state.”
