New Q&A Series Uncovers Keys to Charting Successful M&A Exits

SRS Highlights Entrepreneurs who have led Startups from Growth to Acquisition

SAN FRANCISCO--()--SRS | Shareholder Representative Services, the leading post-closing expert for private company mergers and acquisitions, today announced the launch of Achieving the Exit, an executive Q&A series focused on founders and CEOs who have successfully led their startups through acquisition. The series is designed to reveal key decisions, strategies and lessons that are useful for management teams and board members who are in the midst of leading high-growth companies.

“Startups and their investors engage us when they are ready to exit, so we see a remarkable subset of highly successful entrepreneurs,” said Paul Koenig, Managing Director at SRS. “We’re launching this series to let them tell their stories and provide a resource to the broader entrepreneurial and investor communities.”

SRS, which serves as shareholder representative on more than a third of all venture-backed exits, works with hundreds of top entrepreneurs from around the world. The first Q&A of the series features Mike Cote, former CEO of SecureWorks, which was acquired by Dell for $612 million in February 2011. In the interview, Cote discusses the importance of metrics-driven sales, the necessity of building a strong team that believes in the company vision, and the value of great advisors.

“Board members provided tremendous insight. You've got to make sure you have high quality people around you,” said Cote in the interview. The full Q&A is available on the SRS website here.

Achieving the Exit will be distributed to SRS’ community of venture capital and private equity investors, entrepreneurs, attorneys, bankers and other stakeholders who participate in private company exits. To subscribe to the series, please visit www.shareholderrep.com/subscribe. The series is the fifth major content offering released by SRS. Others include: two annual studies, the SRS M&A Deal Terms Study and the SRS M&A Post-Closing Claims Study, SRS’ quarterly newsletter, News, Best Practices and Opinions in M&A, and a book of tips and best practices, Tales from the M&A Trenches: Pre-Closing Practices to Mitigate Post-Closing Risks.
