Prior to joining the firm, Six served as the 43rd Attorney General for the State of Kansas and as a District Court Judge in Douglas County, Kansas. “We are delighted to welcome Steve to our team. As Attorney General, Six successfully represented the State of Kansas in complex cases in various areas including healthcare, antitrust, environmental resources and consumer protection. Six successfully prosecuted capital and first-degree murder cases and was the first Attorney General in over 35 years to personally prosecute cases before juries. Six also argued before the United States Supreme Court in a dispute over the division of water in the Arkansas River and successfully represented Kansas in a case before the United States Supreme Court over water resources in the Republican River.

Attorney General Six also oversaw a vigorous investigation into mortgage fraud schemes, working closely with the Federal Trade Commission and the United States Attorney’s Office. He served on the Attorney General’s State-Federal Task Force on Mortgage Enforcement. Six worked closely with attorneys general from around the country in antitrust enforcement, large consumer protection actions and served on the National Association of Attorneys General Executive Committee, as Chair of the Midwest Region of Attorneys General and on other consumer protection and Medicaid fraud working groups.
