Juniper Advisory Adds Two Veterans to Its Healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions Practice

CHICAGO--()--Juniper Advisory LLC announced that Barry Sagraves and Jordan Shields have joined the firm in its Chicago office.

Barry Sagraves was most recently a managing director at Bury Street Capital, a financial advisory firm in London. He previously held senior positions at Northern Trust, and John Nuveen & Co. where he worked with Juniper Advisory’s principals, James Burgdorfer and David Gordon. Barry holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA in Economics from Yale University.

“Barry is a talented and highly-respected banker,” noted David Gordon, principal and co-founder of Juniper Advisory. “His experience in advising clients around the world, plus his in-depth industry knowledge and expertise, will enhance the level and breadth of services to our clients.”

During his investment banking career, Barry has advised on transactions in the hospital and managed care sectors of healthcare as well as in asset management. At Juniper, he will focus on the firm’s core advisory assignments for nonprofit hospital systems entering into business combination transactions. Recognized as an expert in healthcare merger work, Barry has been a frequent speaker at seminars and symposia on topics related to industry trends and corporate governance.

“I am pleased to rejoin Jamie and Dave. I have always viewed them to be the industry’s best providers of impartial, expert advice to nonprofit healthcare organizations. During the coming period of hospital consolidation, which is being driven by health care reform, Juniper’s expertise will be more valuable than ever,” said Barry.

Jordan Shields is joining Juniper Advisory after 12 years in hospital system consulting. Jordan was most recently a member of Navigant Consulting’s provider strategy practice where he assisted hospital clients with merger support. Before his tenure at Navigant, Jordan was a member of Ernst & Young’s hospital advisory practice.

"I chose to join Juniper Advisory because its unparalleled track-record of executing successful transactions has made it the demonstrated leader in helping to assure the long-term success of hospitals and health systems across the United States,” noted Jordan.
