NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guidepost Solutions LLC announced today that it has acquired The OSO Group, Ltd., an international investigations, security and compliance consultancy based in San Francisco. The acquisition expands and strengthens Guidepost's global presence and provides its clients with an extended set of services and solutions in addition to the expertise of a recognized executive leader in international investigations.

The OSO Group was founded by John Gibbons, a recognized leader in the field of international investigations. He worked for 13 years with the Department of Justice as Chief of the Criminal Division for both the Northern and Eastern Districts of California and Deputy Chief of the Organized Crime and Racketeering Strike Force, Los Angeles. During his tenure, Mr. Gibbons supervised and tried the prosecution and investigation of many significant high profile cases, including several internationally recognized espionage and terrorist matters, multinational corporate espionage cases, and many significant multinational white collar prosecutions. Following his departure from the DOJ, Mr. Gibbons served as a Senior Managing Director of Kroll Associates and opened their first offices outside of New York in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. In 1991, Mr. Gibbons formed The OSO Group as the first commercial counterespionage group established in the private sector.
