RadiumOne Takes Online Advertising Social

“R1 Like Button” Puts Consumers in Control of the Online Advertising Experience

SAN FRANCISCO--()--RadiumOne, the revolutionary online ad network that leverages the social Web to deliver a superior advertising experience, today announced the launch of the “R1 Like Button,” a new tool which will for the first time make online display advertising social. The button will usher in a new era of “social advertising” allowing consumers to interact with ads in new ways never possible before.

On every ad, RadiumOne advertisers can choose to display a button that allows consumers to “Like” or “Share” their ad. The “Like” button is completely separate from the Facebook ecosystem, and is uniquely linked back to RadiumOne. When consumers declare that they “Like” an ad, RadiumOne will use that information to serve ads in the future that are specifically targeted to the consumer’s particular interests. Consumers will begin to see ads that reflect their personal preference in terms of product, message and style, and advertisers will be able to deliver ads to the users most likely to engage with them.

When a user clicks on the “Share” button, a small window pops up that will allow the consumer to share the ad through Facebook, Twitter, e-mail and other social media channels, giving brands free word-of-mouth advertising and the ability for ads to “go viral.” According to Chadwick Martin Bailey, 75 percent of Internet users say they are likely to share content with friends or family—and with the “R1 Like Button,” consumers can now seamlessly share their favorite ads without interrupting the browsing experience.

“The rise of everything social has been the largest Internet trend in years—and it was only a matter of time before this was applied to advertising,” said Gurbaksh Chahal, Founder and CEO of RadiumOne. “We are letting consumers create their own intent graph—and when advertisers can serve consumers the exact ads they want to see, everyone wins.”

In one test with a major auto manufacturer, ads with the R1 Like Button generated a clickthrough rate of .12% and a Like button click rate of .18%; the Share rate was .02%. In addition, lead requests increased by 45%. The end result was a huge increase in earned media at no extra cost to the advertiser.

RadiumOne works with leading brands in all verticals, and “The R1 Like Button” is free for all advertisers on the RadiumOne network. The button will be opt-in, and can be inserted on every available ad format.

All information collected by RadiumOne is completely anonymous, and the “R1 Like Button” is compliant with NAI, IAB and PrivacyChoice standards.
