Northern Trust Strengthens Presence in the Northeast

Adds to Teams in New York, Connecticut and Delaware

NEW YORK--()--Northern Trust, a leading provider of financial services for institutions and affluent individuals, today announced four strategic hires as it expands capabilities and increases advisory staff in the Northeastern United States.

The new additions include three Wealth Advisors and a Wealth Strategist with previous experience from Wilmington Trust, U.S. Trust, JP Morgan Private Bank, Brown Brothers Harriman and Ernst & Young Personal Financial Services.

New hires include the following:

John Lee joins Northern Trust as a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor in the New York Office. Lee is a lead relationship manager for high net worth individuals, families and endowment & foundation clients. He brings 23 years of asset management and client relationship experience to the role. Previously, Lee was a managing director at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) in New York, supervising one of the firm’s largest wealth management offices. Before joining BBH, he spent seven years at U.S. Trust Company of New York in the Asset Management Group.

Lee received his Bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and is a graduate of The Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems, sponsored by the Fund for American Studies at Georgetown University.

Maria Neary, CPA and CFA, joins as a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor in the New York office. Neary is responsible for delivering comprehensive wealth management solutions to high net worth individuals and families. Previously, she led Geller Family Office Services LLC, a multi-family office providing wealth management services to private clients. In addition to providing direction for the practice, her responsibilities there included overseeing client relationships and coordinating a wide range of wealth management services. She also served as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Previous roles include chief operating officer at Braun Business Management, a multi-family office, and senior relationship manager at JP Morgan Private Bank.

Neary earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA at Pace University. She serves on the Family Office Committee of the New York State Society of CPAs. Neary has been an ambassador for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and currently volunteers with New York Cares.

Brian Donovan joins as a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor in the Connecticut office. Donovan designs comprehensive estate and financial plans for high net worth individuals and families. Most recently, Donovan was a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s Personal Financial Services Group. He has significant experience with tax and wealth transfer planning for entrepreneurs, executives and wealthy individuals and families.

Donovan received his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University. He earned a JD from Suffolk University Law School and received his Master of Laws in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law.

Marisa Facciolo joins as Vice President and Wealth Strategist in the Delaware office. Facciolo specializes in new business development throughout the Northeast region. She has extensive experience in providing comprehensive wealth management advice to high net worth families, business owners and foundations & endowments throughout the country. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Facciolo worked for Wilmington Trust where she served as a vice president and senior private client advisor within the Wealth Advisory Services division. Earlier in her career, she worked for Tiedemann Trust Company and JP Morgan in trust administration.

Facciolo holds a JD from Widener University School of Law and earned her bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Italian from Dickinson College. She is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Graduate Trust School. Facciolo is a Board Member on the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, a member of the Fund for Women, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for Serviam Girls Academy in Wilmington, and a Guild Member of the Ministry of Caring, Delaware.
