EBERSWALDE, Germany--()--During 2010, the Brandenburg-based solar system company Mp-tec GmbH & Co.KG pursued its core business of wholesale trading and, in addition, successfully expanded its project development sector. In 2010 alone, Mp-tec’s project-development team introduced installations with an overall output of 37 megawatts into the network. These involved 25 megawatts for free-standing installations and 12 megawatts for roof-top installations. The bulk of the free-standing installations were installed in Germany’s new Federal States. The newly completed projects include solar parks with an output of up to 5.45 megawatts.

A number of installations, such as the Listerfehrda solar power plant near Lutherstadt Wittenberg, were connected to the network just a few days before the start of 2011. The 11,520 modules with an overall output of 2.2 megawatts were assembled within the agreed deadline, despite winter’s early onset. Mp-tec supplied and assembled the framework system. The company was also responsible for selecting the correct base. A 3.99-megawatt solar power plant in Hohburg-Lüptitz (near Leipzig), a 1.04-megawatt installation in Rossau (Saxony) and a 2.99-megawatt park in Lauta-Laubusch (near Bautzen) were also completed in December 2010.

Mp-tec’s Managing Director Michael Preißel is confident of establishing the company’s project development business at international level in 2011: “Project development and the completion of a large-scale power plant require technical know-how, skills pooling and professional project management. Mp-tec has already provided ample proof of its capabilities by successfully carrying out several large-scale projects. In 2011, we’d like to further implement our knowledge at international level; we’ve already received a number of initial requests from Italy, Greece, the UK and Spain.”
