ACG Detroit Hosts Fourth Annual Intercollegiate ACG Cup for MBA Students;

$19K in Scholarship Prizes, International Internship

TROY, Mich.--()--The Association for Corporate Growth Detroit Chapter, a premier non-profit business networking organization of 300 corporate growth driven professionals, will host its Fourth Annual ACG Detroit Cup intercollegiate competition for Masters of Business Administration(MBA) students from Walsh College, Troy; Broad College of Business, Michigan State University; Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan; Wayne State University School of Business Administration; and University of Michigan Flint.

Leslie Sheidler, ACG Cup Chairwoman and senior director finance mergers and acquisitions for Kelly Services, Inc. based here, announced the competition which begins in January at the various campuses, with the Finals being judged March 5, 2011 at Walsh College in Troy.

Each school has been invited to submit teams of 3-5 MBA students per team for the competition, which will involve real-life business cases for analysis. The field will then be reduced to one team for each school for the ACG Cup Finals.

First prize will be a $10K scholarship with second a $5K scholarship, and $1K for the remaining finalists. The global law firm of Pinsent Masons will offer an expenses paid internship in either England, Asia or the Middle East. All ACG Cup participants are eligible to apply for the internship. Sponsors of the Cup are Conway MacKenzie, Ernst & Young, Fifth Third Bank, Huntington Bank, Huron Capital Partners, Maynards, UHY Advisors and Pinsent Masons.

Michigan State University won the 2010 ACG Cup, followed by University of Detroit Mercy, 2009, and Walsh College took home top honors in 2008.

There are 300 ACG Detroit Chapter members who are involved in corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions. There are 54 ACG Chapters around the world representing 13,000 members.
