Visa Introduces Visa Luxury Hotel Collection Platform to Affluent Cardholders in Latin America

Visa premium cardholders in the region can now enjoy exclusive perks at a selection of the world’s most prestigious properties

MIAMI--()--Visa (NYSE: V) puts some of the world’s most exotic and luxurious hotels and resorts at the fingertips of its Visa Platinum, Signature and Infinite cardholders in Latin America and the Caribbean with the launch of the Visa Luxury Hotel Collection (VLHC) benefits platform in the region. This new premium travel offering enables Visa affluent cardholders to find, book, and enjoy unique benefits at a hand-selected group of prestigious properties through the regional website in Spanish: www.visaluxuryhotelcollection.com.

“Travel benefits consistently rank at the top of our Visa premium cardholders’ lists of preferred perks,” said Vicente Echeveste, Head of Consumer Products, Visa Inc. Latin America and the Caribbean. “The Visa Luxury Hotel Collection enhances Visa’s ability to meet the lifestyles of today’s affluent cardholder with access to the travel perks they value most. Whether planning a weekend getaway or a family vacation, Visa cardholders can enjoy sophisticated accommodations hand-picked by invitation only and appraised annually to ensure consistency with our highest standards.”

The Visa Luxury Hotel Collection offers cardholders access to a number of perks, which may include the best available rate, a room upgrade, VIP guest status, complimentary valet parking or internet access, a food and beverage voucher, complimentary continental breakfast, and late checkout privileges1. Cardholders can browse properties, check room availability, review rates, and make reservations through the website in Spanish www.visaluxuryhotelcollection.com. There is no need to prepay for the hotel stay; payment is due only at checkout. Bookings can also be carried by calling the Visa Concierge service.

Visa has created this new program to enhance its benefits platform for the affluent segment, which includes concierge services, medical protection, and travel insurances, to offer what this select group of cardholders’ values the most. The perks offered by Visa Luxury Hotel Collection ranked among the top ten important travel benefits in a 2009 survey of affluent and business travelers2. Complimentary room upgrades (53 percent) and free internet access (51 percent) were identified as the most important travel benefits among respondents with annual income over $150K.

The Visa Luxury Hotel Collection is powered by Kiwi Collection, one of the most-selective collections of luxury properties. Hotels available through the new program range from exceptional foreign destinations, such as the Burj al Arab, in Dubai, and Amanpuri, in Thailand, to luxury properties at traditional destinations, including The Setai, in Miami, and The Pierre, in New York.
