FRX Polymers Receives Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation of the Year Award

CHELMSFORD, Mass.--()--FRX Polymers, Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of a new, environmentally friendly family of inherently flame retardant plastics, today announced that it has received the 2013 Frost & Sullivan North American Product Innovation of the Year Award for flame-retardant materials.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Innovation is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within their industry. This honor was bestowed to FRX Polymers, in recognition of the company’s innovative phosphonate-based line of homopolymers, compolymers and oligomers that are used as polymeric flame retardant additives in a wide range of polymers.

In its research finding, Frost & Sullivan noted that, “FRX Polymers’ Nofia® product has the ability to replace bromine-based and competitive halogen-free FR additives in commercial and industrial applications. Their Nofia brand of inherently flame retardant plastics and additives has the ability to address the end-users’ need for environmentally friendly non-toxic flame retardants. Frost & Sullivan research clearly shows that Nofia can be used to enhance the flame retardant characteristics without changing the inherent characteristics of the targeted polymer or resin.” The company is primarily focused on three main markets, namely consumer electronics, building and construction, and transportation.

“We are proud to receive this Award from Frost & Sullivan. This is the second time that Frost and Sullivan acknowledged FRX and this award is a testament to our team’s commitment to its mission,” said FRX President and CEO, Marc Lebel.

The company continues to grow – with its first full scale production facility scheduled to come on stream in October, 2013.
