CHICAGO--()--Vancive Medical Technologies™ will showcase new digital healthcare solutions and discuss future technology developments, as well as exhibit a range of innovative solutions for commercial partners, developers and manufacturers at the Healthcare Innovation Expo, March 13 – 14, 2013, ExCel London, Booth CC12.

On exhibit will be the Vancive Medical Technologies Metria Informed Health technology platform, a portfolio of products for physiological monitoring for a variety of health, wellness and clinical applications. The Metria technology platform is based on Vancive Medical Technologies’ advanced adhesives, materials and manufacturing, and includes technologies from Proteus Digital Health and BodyMedia, Inc.

According to Deepak Prakash, global director of marketing, Vancive Medical Technologies, several new Metria developments are on tap for 2013.

“We and our partner BodyMedia look forward to our first commercial launch of Metria technology, which will target weight management and wellness applications in the U.S.,” says Prakash. “We are also developing the next generation of Metria products for lifestyle management and clinical applications.

“Another exciting application we are exploring is gaming,” Prakash continues. “We have partnered with the health gaming company Ayogo on a game that encourages kids to exercise more. The interest level for the Metria platform is high in the U.S. and abroad, and addresses a variety of markets, including the military. We expect to announce these advancements in healthcare sensor technology in 2013.”

Metria will be featured on Bang Goes the Theory, BBC1, April 8 at 19:30.

In addition to Metria, other products on exhibit include the BeneHold™ Securement and Wound Care Solutions Platform, and Thin Absorbent Skin Adhesive.

The BeneHold Securement and Wound Care Solutions Platform

Vancive’s BeneHold Securement and Wound Care Solutions Platform includes the new BeneHold Absorbent Wound Dressing Portfolio. The dressings manage lightly to moderately exuding chronic and acute wounds and exhibit superior fluid handling capacity, yet are thin and conformable to enhance patient comfort. They come in a variety of formulations and constructions to suit different wound types and conditions.

BeneHold securement solutions, available as components or finished products, include the BeneHold™ Medical Tape Strips and the BeneHold™ Tube Fixation Device.

Thin Absorbent Skin Adhesive

The Vancive Thin Absorbent Skin Adhesive (TASA) platform utilizes a proprietary formulation that has adhesion properties and a moisture vapor transmission rate comparable to traditional acrylic adhesives, while delivering superior fluid handling capacities (FHC) that support extended wear time. The fluid handling characteristics prevent moisture build-up to minimize skin maceration. Vancive will expand this platform into the stomacare market in the first quarter of 2013 with a soft non-woven backed product that enhances the comfort, flexibility of ostomy bag flanges while reducing the profile significantly.

According to Colleen Ward, vice president global marketing, the unique needs of Vancive customers are at the heart of each product.

“Our exhibit reflects Vancive’s commitment to supporting medical device manufacturers and end users with technologies that help people be more connected with and conscious about healthcare. This leads to better results for everyone. Visitors to Vancive’s booth will see examples of how this commitment has led to novel solutions and innovations that empower users to act confidently and which will inspire further innovation throughout the healthcare industry.”
