Treaty Oak Equity Sells Stan’s Home Services Holdings to The Master Trades Group

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Treaty Oak Equity LLC (“Treaty Oak”), a private investment firm investing in lower middle-market companies with the potential to grow rapidly through investments in talent, capabilities and strategic acquisitions, announced today it has completed the sale of Stan’s Home Services Holdings, Inc. (“Stan’s” or the “Company”) to The Master Trades Group (“MTG”).

Stan’s is a leading provider of residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical services in the Austin, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico metro areas. Since acquiring Stan’s in 2018, Treaty Oak supported the significant long-term growth and success of both the Company and its management team. Over this time, Stan’s tripled its revenues, growing from a single location, single trade operation to one of the largest home service providers in both the Austin and Albuquerque markets, providing a full suite of HVAC, plumbing and electrical services. To accomplish this growth, Stan’s made meaningful investments in platform infrastructure including implementing an industry leading ERP system, building an in-house marketing team with digital advertising expertise and rolling out a real-time business intelligence platform, all while maintaining industry-leading employee retention and customer satisfaction. Stan’s success was also accelerated by several strategic acquisitions that provided access to new markets and service offerings, including the acquisition of Wagner Mechanical, Inc. in 2020.

John Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Stan’s noted, “It was a pleasure to partner with the Treaty Oak team over the last five years. They cared deeply about the employees of Stan’s and supported our leadership team in doing the right thing for our customers. While they helped our team realize Stan’s potential, I never felt like they put profits before people.” Williams, added, “We are excited to continue Stan’s journey as part of the Master Trades Group (“MTG”) family. MTG is an impressive organization with a strong culture of prioritizing employee well-being and caring for customers. The partnership is the right fit for Stan’s and will accelerate our next phase of growth.”

Ben Williams, Managing Director and Founder of Treaty Oak, said, “We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the success and tradition of Stan’s. It is a special group of people and we are humbled by their friendship and collaboration. On behalf of our institution, we thank the Stan’s team for our wonderful five-year partnership, serving our customers and community.”

Chris Mason, Managing Director Treaty Oak, added, “Stan’s is a remarkable team with the highest quality leadership and talent. It’s been a privilege to support them during a period of significant change in the home services industry. We are proud of the results they have accomplished, while staying true to their core values of treating people as ‘Customers for Life’ and upholding the ‘Stan’s Standard.’”

TD Cowen served as the financial advisor to Treaty Oak and the Company.
