WINTER GARDEN, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Store Space Self Storage announced today it is donating $5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for every completed rental during the month of October. This is the third time Store Space has partnered with BCRF.
The fight against breast cancer has a personal connection to Store Space COO & President Rob Consalvo.
“My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016,” Consalvo said. “She was one of the lucky ones and was able to beat it.
“Having the opportunity to use our platform and company culture of ‘Storage That Cares’ enables us to generate awareness across our customer base, while also providing an opportunity to raise funds to help eradicate this form of cancer once and for all.”
In addition to donations for each rental, customers and employees can donate in-store by scanning a special QR code or using a collection box. Customers will receive a pink ribbon, as well as an in-store placard to tally their donations. Employees can help raise awareness by wearing pink throughout the month, especially on designated “Pink Days” (10/7, 10/14, and 10/21).
“This was more of a ‘grass roots’ campaign in 2019, which really took off for us the following year,” said Michelle Wight-Sands, Vice President of Operations. “We’ve had so much success, we decided to bring it back as part of our ongoing ‘Storage That Cares’ mission.”
In 2021 alone, 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer, and it was responsible for approximately 43,780 deaths in the United States.
