SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Noora Health, a non-profit dedicated to improving health outcomes and strengthening health systems by equipping family caregivers with the skills they need to care for their loved ones, was announced as a TED 2022 Audacious Project Grantee and recipient of the 2022 Skoll Foundation Award for Social Innovation. Together the two will catalyze $52M in funding to further the non-profit’s vision of a world where patients and their caregivers are a core component of healthcare delivery and family-member training is a standard of care. The funding through Audacious includes the largest single gift in Noora Health's history, $20M from MacKenzie Scott and Dan Jewett.

The funding through the two opportunities will help Noora Health accomplish its goal of expanding to over 70 million caregivers and patients across four countries over the next six years. It will also enhance their tech-enabled products to improve access and reach, while continuing to grow their team globally.

Noora Health and its local partners work with six state governments in India, the Government of Bangladesh, and large private hospital systems. The organization has trained nearly 2 million patients and family members across more than 300 hospitals and clinics and is aiming to train 70 million patients and caregivers, increasing its reach to 10 states in India and expanding to two new countries. As a result, the program has reduced post-surgical cardiac complications by 71%, newborn readmissions by 56%, and there was a 78% increase in skin-to-skin care among new parents.
