MIAMI--()--MONAT Gratitude, a South Florida-based nonprofit, ushered in the season of giving on Saturday, November 13, with its fourth annual Feast with Gratitude. The event, held in partnership with Farm Share and Neighbors 4 Neighbors, provided gift bags with fresh, healthy food and household essentials to 2,000 families in need across South Florida. The organizations distributed an estimated 80,000 pounds of food and more than $200,000 in essential items.

Feast with Gratitude is one of MONAT Gratitude’s signature yearly events, bringing together South Florida families to celebrate the spirit of gratitude at the start of the holiday season. This event brings to life the organization’s mission of impacting the lives of children and families around the world.

“It’s always an honor and a privilege to serve the South Florida community during Feast with Gratitude,” said MONAT Gratitude CEO Lu Urdaneta. “Assisting local families in need is part of our drive and mission at MONAT Gratitude. We plan to continue expanding our outreach within local communities and be here to offer a helping hand when needed.”

As the state continues to deal with the effects of the extended global pandemic, many families are unsure where their next meal will come from. According to Farm Share, food insecurity affects millions of Americans and nearly 1 million children each year, especially during the holidays.

“Our ultimate goal is to make sure no one goes hungry. Sadly, we know that this holiday season and every year, millions of people will,” said Stephen R. Shelley, President and CEO of Farm Share. “Feast with Gratitude was a wonderful opportunity to touch a local community and help individuals during this terrible food insecurity crisis. Farm Share is a part of South Florida, with extensive outreach efforts, and we’re committed to continuing our meaningful efforts to make sure no food goes to waste and food is readily available to every person in these communities.”

The Feast with Gratitude event drew numerous special guests, legislators, and local government officials, including Florida State Rep. James Bush, who shared, “I was so grateful to participate in MONAT’s Feast with Gratitude and kick off the holiday giving season by providing healthy food to our most vulnerable neighbors.” Event sponsors included Spectrum Packaging Corporation, Nexio, Creative Sourcing International, LTD., The HB Group, Brown & Brown of Florida, Tekorder, Tricorbraun, Hrbenefits, Impact This Day, Cosmo International Fragrances, Colonial Chemical, i2K Digital Solutions, Creating ME, IFF Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, CHEMYUNION, Carrubba Inc., Essential Ingredients, Glenn Corporation, Telapprise, Waltlabs, Rex 3, and WWP Beauty Inc.
