Mike Wellman, owner of Atomic Basement Comics stated, "I think reading has always been fun, but we want to encourage adults to keep with it after finishing school. That is when the real reading adventures can begin."
Brian Keltner states, that “this is just one example of how companies can work together to provide incentives and opportunities for readers to find new books they love!”
According to the Literacy Project, the average adult reading level near that of an 8th grader in high school in America, the campaign revolves around donating more than 100 of Brian Keltner's newly released book to the Little Free Library organization all over the City of Long Beach. Once readers find the New Adult Superhero novelette in the neighborhood lending library, there will be an invitation to meet the author at the Atomic Basement Comics where they will receive a new comic book for free.
Brian Keltner is a literary serial author and the founder of Digital Agency Gurus. He has been writing professionally for years, but Hardly A Hero, The Origin of Galit is his first paperback novella. The goal of this series is to tell stories that evoke an emotional response from readers by showing them a world where good and evil exist in every character, even a reluctant adult with anger issues. Keltner strives to show people that life can be hard and many times unfair, but it’s never hopeless as long as people are willing to step up to the challenges.
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization with more than 100,000 little libraries worldwide with neighborhood lending as part of a global book-sharing movement that anyone can start. The impact libraries program is a great way to promote literacy and provide books access to people in communities that might not otherwise have books. There are over one hundred of these little libraries throughout the City of Long Beach.
