Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs Department of Industrial Technology Selects 81 Outstanding Technologies to Strengthen Key Capabilities of Domestic Industries

TAIPEI, Taiwan--()--The 2021 TIE Taiwan Innotech Expo has officially kicked off both online and at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 today (October 14th). Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) selected 68 TDP technologies and 13 TDP-incubated innovative technologies from over a hundred TDPs executed by 17 legal persons for the event. The technologies, which boost industrial upgrading, are displayed in the TIE Discovering Technology Treasures section. Innovative applications of AI and 5G are focus features at the expo, as well as new technologies and industry trends in precision health and low carbon economy.

The TIE Discovering Technology Treasures section presents two major features: crucial technologies for future industrial upgrading and innovative startups that show high potential in the industries. DoIT Director General Chiou Chyou-Huey pointed out that innovation is a key factor in enhancing the global competitiveness of a nation's industry. The 68 selected technologies displayed this year include the AI Assistant of Mammograms, an innovative application of AI that reduces the waiting time for breast cancer test results; and the production of methanol from CO2 with low carbon emission technology introduced by the DoIT in response to EU's carbon border tax policy (that will be implemented in 2023). This technology synthesizes CO2 into low-carbon methanol which can then be mass-produced to supply industrial use and realize circular recycling.

The latest industry trends are presented by the MoEA Dpartment of Industrial Technology (DoIT) at the expo. All visitors and collaboration inquiries are welcome. Come visit the TIE Discovering Technology Treasures expo online between October 14th and 23rd!
