GERMANTOWN, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SkyPoint Federal Credit Union (SkyPoint), a premier, member-owned financial institution, is doubling down on its commitment to supporting and giving back to the communities it serves.
As part of its ‘SkyPoint Serves’ volunteer initiative, SkyPoint is donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Montgomery County Public Schools as the district prepares to return to full-time, in-person learning this fall. For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down in person learning, students will be back in the classroom and PPE is a necessity to ensure they remain safe.
SkyPoint’s donations to Alternative Programs at the Blair Ewing Center were distributed to locations in Rockville, Germantown, and Silver Spring between August 10-17th for a total of:
- 600 disposable face masks;
- 36 boxes of Kleenex (3,420 ct.);
- 18 packs of Lysol wipes (1,440 ct.); and
- 36 bottles of Dial hand soap (270 oz. total).
SkyPoint’s new Director of Community Relations, Audra Pettus said, “We are proud to support our local schools, children, and families, and to take an active role in ensuring the safe return to in-person learning this fall. Donating PPE is just another way we are here for our communities and ensuring health and awareness in all aspects of their lives.”
In addition to coordinating drop-offs of PPE to each location, the SkyPoint team also plans to conduct financial literacy seminars for teens and adults as part of this partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools.
