Rail and Intermodal Leaders Come Together to Navigate the Future of the Industry at Navis World 2021

Navis World 2021 will Take Place at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco on November 1-4, 2021

OAKLAND, Calif.--()--Navis, the provider of operational technologies and services that unlock greater performance and efficiency for leading organizations throughout the global shipping industry, has announced that its 13th Biennial Event, Navis World, will take place on November 1 - 4, 2021 at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco. The event will demonstrate how customers are using mission-critical technology and software that supports logistics from rail and inland operations to ocean shipping to manage the global supply chain.

Navis Rail is the leading provider of intermodal terminal operating systems and software for freight rail planning, scheduling and analytics, providing modules for the optimization of trains, cars, locomotives, yards and crew. With the addition of rail, the evolution of Navis’ offerings now covers the supply chain – from the ship, to the container terminal, to the rail intermodal yard, giving carriers and cargo owners more opportunities to manage, optimize and track this expanced process regardless of the mode of transportation.

At their hallmark event, Navis will bring together rail and intermodal executives, customers and key stakeholders to discuss expanded offerings, new customers and industry trends through informative sessions, demos and networking events. Speakers for the event include Pat Ottensmeyer, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Kansas City Southern Railroad, and a rail panel discussion moderated by Bill Vantuono, Editor-In-Chief for Railway Age.

The freight rail sessions will also include presentations by senior executives from railroads, suppliers and from Navis Rail specialists around its central theme of navigating change across the supply chain. Additionally, attendees will gain valuable insights on digitization and automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and opportunities for greater visibility and control across the supply chain, and will hear from logistics leaders about how they have navigated the demands of the pandemic to continue to thrive in the most challenging of circumstances.

“It has been a unique year, one that has brought many challenges to the global logistics industry. Regardless of the challenge, Navis customers have met them head on and strived to provide their key partners and stakeholders a high level of service to keep cargo flowing with minimal disruptions,” said Benoit de la Tour, President, Navis. “We are excited to host our customers and bring logistics leaders from around the world together in a safe environment to discuss the future of the industry and strategies for how to cope with and handle future challenges that may arise.”

“The challenges the rail and intermodal industries experienced in the past year and a half due to COVID-19 were abundantly apparent, and the supply chain's essential role in the global economy and the role of technology has never been more clear,” said Tom Forbes, Head of Navis Rail. “All of us at Navis are looking forward to coming together in-person with industry leaders for Navis World once again, and are excited to present our new rail and intermodal-specific programming to our attendees at the event.”
