The regulation of heated tobacco and modern oral products, such as tobacco-free nicotine pouches or snus containing tobacco, will remain unchanged in Argentina for the foreseeable future.
For the time being, it does not seem to be a priority for the authorities to establish a clear regulatory framework for heated tobacco products, which means that they will remain under the legal framework of tobacco products. In contrast, public health organisations are working on a draft proposal to regulate the sale and use of e-cigarettes, arguing that current legislation - which dates from 2011 - is no longer fit for purpose.

This initiative has already been proposed by countries such as the UK and New Zealand, which seek the same by 2030 and 2025 respectively.
