Winning by Design Expands Australian and Asia Pacific Markets With the Appointment of Charlie Wood as ANZ Managing Director

Winning by Design launches its metrics-based Sales as a Science (SaaS) framework and remote selling approach to B2B businesses in new regions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The leader in transforming and scaling revenue organizations, Winning by Design, continues its expansion plan by appointing Charlie Wood as Managing Director, serving clients in Australia and New Zealand.

Charlie Wood will lead the firm’s expansion within Australia and the Asia Pacific region. This move will expand Winning by Design’s metrics-based Sales as a Science (SaaS) framework and remote selling approach to B2B revenue optimization. Previously, this market was being served by Andy Farquharson, who has been promoted to General Manager in Europe. Existing customers in Australia include UberEats Australia, CultureAmp, Ansarada (now merged with thedocyard), and KPMG.

“At KPMG High Growth Ventures, our business is working with companies who are rapidly transitioning through evolutionary stages,” says Amanda Price, partner and Head of High Growth Ventures at KPMG Australia. “Working with Winning by Design gives us an insight into how we can apply the science of sales to our business and how to help our clients do the same. We see the value of building a sound go-to-market strategy using the application of models and data.”

Businesses across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific region are dealing with a seismic shift toward remote selling due to the coronavirus pandemic. This migration can negatively impact sales productivity and revenue growth for businesses that fail to adapt.

“Especially now, Winning by Design’s scientific frameworks can benefit companies in this region,” said Wood. “It’s essential that businesses leverage asynchronous sales processes or else they won’t be able to meet buyer demand for a quick turnaround, which won’t go away even when the pandemic is behind us.”

Wood has spent more than 20 years working with the technology industry on business leadership, venture capital investing, strategic consulting, marketing, and product management. He has built two startups and mentored many more through fundraising, market analysis, and scaling GTM activity.

Wood’s impressive career includes the following pivotal roles:

  • Founder of Social2CRM, a social media analytics, and social CRM strategy company
  • Vice president of AsiaPac and Japan for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Managing Director at Dropbox for the ANZ region
  • General Partner at IAG Firemark Ventures
  • A seven-year member of the leadership team that launched Microsoft Dynamics Online

With this latest expansion for Winning by Design, business-to-business companies in Asia Pacific will have access to a wide range of services to help increase their pipeline volume, sales velocity, win rates, and customer retention and loyalty in order to accelerate their revenue and achieve sustainable growth. These services include:

  • Sales and customer success process design and playbook design
  • Account-based strategies and digital marketing plans
  • Organizational design to align marketing, sales, and customer service execution of revenue plans
